SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Strings v1.4-R2R
Soft / VST Instruments 2-05-2016
SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Strings v1.4-R2R
Strings. They're lush. They're dramatic. They're emotionally evocative. Nothing sets the mood like well-done ensemble strings in the hands of a skilled composer/arranger/producer. The key, of course, is "well-done," and you're sunk before you start if your strings sound like screechy steel cables instead of a rich, silky, expressive string ensemble.

We'll never let that happen to you. That was our mindset when we created Orchestral Companion Strings.

The SONiVOX design team has produced over 90 outstanding string programs, each one meticulously crafted to deliver as accurate and convincing an experience as possible. Your productions deserve nothing less.

There is a comprehensive collection of full orchestral string ensembles, which are fantastic for background string parts or quickly sketching out an orchestral score. But we also offer you also a full array of individual string sections so you can really customize and polish your final creation by building things up section by section. The key is flexibility—you can compose and create on as detailed a level as you'd like. All sections are fully represented, including 1st violins, 2nd violins, violas, cellos and contra basses. Up and down bow bowing, sustain, staccato, and spiccato notes, plus instrument pizzicato and tremolo articulations provide the depth of content needed for convincing ensemble string parts and tracks.

What really sets the SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Strings apart from other seemingly similar products is this:

We spared no effort or expense in seeking out the best musicians playing the best-sounding instruments, and we took the necessary steps to record them correctly in the most lifelike manner possible. We paid attention to every detail—we left no stone unturned, as they say.

All because we knew you wouldn't accept shrill, grating, artificial-sounding strings any more than you'd put up with some cheap product knock-off from a shady street vendor.

The technical details of how we did this are actually pretty interesting, so here they are:

World-Class Musicians; Top-Tier instruments
We recorded the Orchestral Companion Strings in the legendary Futura Productions studios in Massachusetts. Members of the Boston Pops and/or Boston Ballet Orchestras played all performances, with the same premium instruments they use for their actual concert galas and events. A combination of spot and ambient mic’ing capture every instrumental nuance, while preserving the refined acoustics and intimacy of the performance space itself.

State-of-the-Art Sampling Sessions
Under the expert guidance of SONiVOX musical sound connoisseur Jennifer Hruska, each sample session was faithfully recorded by Emmy award-winning engineers Antonio Oliart and RIAA award-winning engineer John Bono. The players were positioned using orchestrally-correct seating, and measures were even taken to compensate for the sound-absorption of any players absent on that particular day. In order to retain a realistic "organic" feel, we used absolutely minimal post-recording electronic processing. We used two B&K 4011 microphones to preserve the highly-desired front-of-hall sound (you know, the "good seats"), while superior-grade spot mics accurately captured each instrument's individual detail. Benchmark-caliber preamps fed Troisi Octal A/D convertors to complete an uncorrupted signal chain.

We expended more effort and care on this system than most audiophiles do on their own systems, but that's how important it was to us...because we know that's how important it is to you.

Playable Programs
Each patch and preset is easily playable by virtually every level of performer. All instruments are presented in multi-velocity layers, with natural swells available via the modulation wheel. MIDI key switching provides on-the-fly articulation for select patches. The internal sound engine provides additional modulation (LFO) sources, dynamic envelope control, and studio-grade reverb/effects to allow creative customization of the onboard sounds.

Plug-In Proficiency
In addition, Orchestral Companion Strings runs as a fully compatible plug-in with any VST (32 or 64 bit), AU (64 bit) , and AAX (32 or 64 bit) for ProTools 10.3 or higher Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software.

SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Woodwinds v1.4-R2R SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Woodwinds v1.4-R2R
Soft / VST Instruments 17-06-2016
Orchestral Companion Woodwinds
We’re all united by our deep and profound love of music, in all its forms, in every style or genre, in any instrumentation. It reaches us on a level that we just can’t put into words.

But there's something about woodwinds. Perhaps it's because the wind instruments parallel the human voice in both frequency range and overtone structure more closely than any other category of instruments. Whether you're listening to Nicholas Daniel performing Mozart's Oboe Concerto in C Major or hearing the unbridled joy of Benny Goodman on clarinet on the still incredibly hip 1937 recording of Sing Sing Sing, in the hands of these amazing musicians, these woodwind instruments seem like they're speaking directly to you.

Who are we to second-guess this kind of sound, artistic integrity and emotion?

That's why we take it as our responsibility to present you with our Orchestral Companion Woodwinds collection—as realistic and lifelike a collection as we could possible make. You shouldn't have to settle for anything less.

This comprehensive woodwind collection provides over 115 outstanding programs, each carefully crafted by the SONiVOX sound design team to be as accurate and convincing as possible. In addition to full orchestral woodwind ensembles, the Orchestral Companion Woodwinds also gives you a full palette of smaller wind sections, plus an amazing collection of solo instruments that are highlighted by dazzling articulation for breathtaking realism.

All major instruments are fully represented, including section and solo piccolo, flute, English horn, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and contra bassoon. Double and flutter tonguing, sustained and staccato notes, plus instrument vibrato and glissando voicing provide the depth of content needed for convincing woodwind parts and tracks.

What really sets the SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Woodwinds apart from other similar-looking products is this:

We spared no effort or expense in seeking out the best musicians playing the best-sounding instruments, and we took the necessary steps to record them correctly in the most lifelike manner possible. We paid attention to every last sonic detail—it was that important.

We did this because we know that authenticity is the key to your artistic success—authentic sounds, authentic emotions, authentic intent. Your best efforts deserve—no, demand—our best efforts.

SONiVOX Eighty Eight Ensemble 2 v2.5-R2R SONiVOX Eighty Eight Ensemble 2 v2.5-R2R
Soft / VST Instruments 2-05-2016
The Arrival of Piano Perfection
Our flagship piano instrument is not just any piano. Eighty Eight Ensemble 2 is an exceptional recreation of the Steinway 9-foot CD 327 grand piano. Meticulously sampled and expertly voiced, Eighty Eight Ensemble 2 provides every composer, pianist, and musician the opportunity to infuse their compositions, recordings, and performances with the breathtaking realism of this truly world-class grand piano.

The recording philosophy employed in creating Eighty Eight Ensemble 2 was based on using a simple signal chain, the finest A/D converters, and exceptional microphone preamps. The result is some 1500 sample recordings, with 16 dynamic levels captured and preserved for every key.

Personal Touch
Even with all this painstaking attention to accuracy, Eighty Eight Ensemble 2 provides plenty of opportunities to customize the sound to match the project—or your taste. The four-band EQ allows the timbre of the sound to be easily refined. An improved limiter offers enhanced dynamic control. Even the level of the sustain pedal and hammer release elements that help define the character of the piano can be individually controlled. Eighty Eight Ensemble 2 also adds a new robust reverb section. The high-frequency damping and room size parameters can add just the right ambience to your performance.

Ensemble Extras
As the name implies, there is more to Eighty Eight Ensemble 2 than piano. Combination patches come in two flavors. Layered combinations, or Pads, add a second instrument that sounds along with the piano. These layered sounds include strings, synth pads, and choral pads. Split Combinations, or Combis, introduce a second sound—or even a third—played in a specified range of keys. Setting a lower split adds a bass sound—such as bass guitar—playing below the piano. Setting an upper split adds a solo accompaniment instrument playing above the piano. Solo sounds include flute, clarinet, acoustic guitar, etc. Combis can have both an upper and lower split. The zones, or range of keys where each instrument will play, can abut or overlap as you desire. The velocity response can be set to make the most of your keyboard and playing style.

Turn and Learn
In addition to the onscreen controls, Eighty Eight Ensemble features a brilliant MIDI Learn Mode. Simply adjusting a parameter and then touching an external MIDI control creates a link between the two. This intuitive MIDI mapping system allows Eighty Eight Ensemble to quickly integrate with your favorite MIDI hardware controller. In fact, Eighty Eight Ensemble can save and recall your MIDI Learn presets and use them with any patch, so you only need to create them once.

Finders, Keepers
Eighty Eight Ensemble features an integrated patch browser that makes it easy to store, sort, and find exactly the sound you are looking for. Patch attributes such as Class, Genre, Character—and of course, Name—allow your sounds to be stored in a musically meaningful way, as opposed to just indexed as numbers. Any and all attributes can be removed or re-assigned as your sound collection grows. Best of all, Eighty Eight Ensemble comes with over 100 professionally programmed sounds to get you started. Each one can be endlessly tweaked and modified to rapidly build your customized Eighty Eight Ensemble sound collection. So get started now!

Customization is Key

When it comes to drums, one size does not fit all. Big Bang Universal Drums 2 provides plenty of opportunities to customize every pad or drum sound to match the project—or your taste. Both the Amp and Filter include five-stage envelope for shaping each sound. Big Bang Universal Drums 2 allows you to maximize the sound potential of each kit. Eight stereo outputs and eight stereo effect busses allow you custom-configure the output, EQ, and Delay routing exactly how you need it.

Tight Tempo

The handy Note Repeat function will continue to retrigger the active drum at some pre-selected beat/tempo value for as long as you hold down the pad, key, or trigger, making it easy to build up complex parts quickly. And speaking of tempo, Big Bang Universal Drums 2 uses the SONiVOX Intelligent Rhythm Control (IRC) to keep your playing in the pocket. Combining the IRC Resolution and IRC Gate adjusts incoming MIDI note data so your playing is accurately in-time, in real-time. In addition, the stereo delay allows either the Left or Right channel—or both—to be synchronized to beat values of the current tempo, tying your sound, song, and effects together.

SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Brass v1.4-R2R SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Brass v1.4-R2R
Soft / VST Instruments 2-05-2016
Orchestral Companion Brass
When you need to add real brass to your project for that "just so" feel, nothing less than the real thing will do. Artificial sounds and less-than-authentic details will sabotage even the best-intentioned efforts. It's like a history buff watching a movie about World War I and seeing a 1960's-era clock on the fireplace mantel in the background. The credibility is shot and the production is ruined.

You only get one chance. Don't blow it.

That's the seriousness with which we took the creation of Orchestral Companion Brass.

The SONiVOX design team has produced over 80 outstanding brass programs, each one meticulously crafted to deliver as accurate and convincing an experience as possible. That's what you demand, so that’s what we did.

There is a comprehensive collection of full orchestral brass ensembles, and also a full array of smaller brass sub-groups. In addition, we provide you with a complete selection of solo instruments. All the major instruments are here, including solo trumpets, trombones, bass trombones, French horns, and tuba. Double and flutter tonguing, sustained and staccato notes, plus instrument mutes, swells, sforzando, and marcato voicing provide you with the depth of content you need for convincing brass parts and tracks.

However, what really sets the SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Brass apart from other seemingly similar products is this:

We spared no effort or expense in seeking out the best musicians playing the best-sounding instruments, and we took the necessary steps to record them correctly in the most lifelike manner possible. We paid attention to every detail—we crossed every 't' and dotted every 'i.'

All because we knew you wouldn't accept inauthentic brass sounds in your production any more than you'd accept a 1960's clock in your 1914-era movie.

In case you're interested (and we know you are, because that's the care and attention you pay to your music), here are the technical details:

World-Class Musicians; Top-Tier instruments
We recorded the Orchestral Companion Brass in the legendary Futura Productions studios in Massachusetts.

We expended more effort and care on this system than most crazed get-a-life audiophiles do on their own systems, but that’s how important it was to us...because that's how important it is to you.

In addition, Orchestral Companion Brass runs as a fully compatible plug-in with any VST (32 or 64 bit), AU (64 bit) , and AAX (32 or 64 bit) for ProTools 10.3 or higher Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software.

We have solved the 32bit version issue conflicting libpng13.dll.
Developer should stop importing this library by ordinal but name, or
do the static link like 64bit one.

Our release provides following advantage:
* No iLok driver is required.
* Use less memory and faster loading.
* No 32bit libpng13 confliction issue.
* Library is provided by simple ISO. You can locate to any place
with our custom library placer (just run and enjoy!).
* Custom minimal software installer without library.

R2R have released this from their vaults.
Have a nice Golden Week!
